Escapus is a mobile outdoor escape game where players explore real cities while solving puzzles, uncovering clues, and completing story-driven missions through a mobile app. Instead of being locked in a room, you move through real locations while unlocking challenges along the way.

How do I start a game?

Purchase your tickets on our website, wait for the confirmation email, download the Escapus app, enter your ticket code, go to the starting location received in the email, and press “I am There” to begin your adventure.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. Each game requires a valid ticket code purchased online before starting.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is required. Simply enter your ticket code in the app to start playing.

How many people can play together?

We recommend teams of 2 to 4 players for the best experience.

How long does the game take?

Most Escapus adventures take between 1.5 and 2.5 hours depending on your pace and how quickly you solve the puzzles.

How far will we walk?

Most games involve walking approximately 2 to 4 kilometers throughout the city. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Tickets & purchases

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased directly on our website. After completing your purchase, you will receive a unique ticket code used to activate the game in the Escapus app.

Does every player need a ticket?

No. Only one ticket per team is required. Your team can play together using a single ticket code.

Can multiple phones use the same ticket?

No. Each ticket can be activate on one mobile phone only.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

No. the tickets cannot be shared with other users.

Do tickets expire?

Tickets usually remain valid for a long period unless otherwise stated during purchase.

When should I activate my ticket?

Activate your ticket when your team is ready to start the adventure and is near the starting location.

Can I start the game immediately after purchasing a ticket?

Yes. Once you receive your ticket code, you can start the game anytime through the Escapus app.

Using the App

Where can I download the Escapus app?

The Escapus app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Do I need internet connection to play?

Yes. The app requires an internet connection to load puzzles, verify answers, and track progress.

Does the app use GPS?

Yes. GPS is used to confirm when players are near the correct location so the next puzzle can be unlocked.

Why does the app ask for location permission?

Location permission allows the app to verify when players reach checkpoints during the adventure.

Does the app track my location continuously?

No. The app only checks location to confirm that players are near a checkpoint and does not store location history.

What does the “I am There” button do?

When you reach a checkpoint, pressing “I am There” confirms your location and unlocks the next puzzle.

Do all players need to install the app?

No. Only one phone is required to play.

Gameplay

What kind of puzzles will we encounter?

Puzzles may include riddles, observation challenges, decoding tasks, and logic puzzles connected to real locations.

What if we get stuck?

You can use the Hint button in the app to receive guidance without revealing the full answer immediately.

What does the Solution button do?

The Solution button reveals the correct answer so you can continue the game.

Are there time limits?

Most Escapus adventures allow you to play at your own pace without strict time limits.

Do we receive a final score?

Yes. At the end of the game you will see your final score and results summary.

What if we accidentally discover the next location before solving the puzzle?

The game will only allow you to proceed once the puzzle has been solved and the next step has been unlocked in the app.

Pausing & Resuming

Can we pause the game?

Yes. You can pause the game at any time and continue later.

Can we resume later?

Yes. Simply reopen the app and enter the same ticket code to continue where you left off.

What if my phone battery dies?

You can continue the adventure on another phone by entering the same ticket code. You have to wait for 5 minutes before proceeding.

Navigation

Does the app provide navigation?

Yes. The app shows the next location on a map to guide players through the adventure.

Can we take different routes?

Yes. Players are free to navigate however they prefer as long as they reach the checkpoint.

Do we need to follow the exact route shown in the app?

No. The map simply shows the destination. You can reach it however you like.

Safety

Is the game safe?

Yes, but players should always remain aware of their surroundings and follow pedestrian safety rules.

Can children play?

Most games are suitable for adults. Younger uses should be accompanied by an adult.

What should we bring?

We recommend bringing a charged phone, comfortable shoes, water, and an internet connection.

Can we play the game at night?

Yes, but some puzzles may be easier to solve during daylight when environmental details are easier to see.

Troubleshooting

My ticket code is not working

Make sure the code is entered exactly as received and that there are no extra spaces.

I lost my ticket code

Search your purchase confirmation email or contact support to resend the code.

The “I'm There” button does not activate

Ensure GPS is enabled and move closer to the checkpoint location.

My GPS location seems incorrect

Move to an open area and wait a few seconds for the GPS signal to update.

What if we are slightly away from the checkpoint but the game still works?

GPS accuracy can vary between 5 and 20 meters depending on the environment. Being close to the location is usually enough.

The puzzle is not loading

Check your internet connection and reopen the app if necessary.

The app froze or closed unexpectedly

Close the app completely and reopen it. Your progress will be restored. You have to wait for 5 minutes before proceeding again by re-entering the ticket code.

Images or clues are not loading

This is usually caused by a slow internet connection.

The map is not loading

Check your internet connection or open the location in your navigation app.
